The word ‘allergic’ is often used loosely and has become almost a part of our general conversation. In a way it has become synonymous with ‘dislike’.

Complete Information on Alexander disease with Treatment and Prevention
May 6th, 2008 · No Comments
Alexander disease, which affects mostly males, usually begins at about 6 months of age.
Alexander disease is a set of genetic conditions called the leukodystrophies that affect development of the myelin sheath, the fatty covering, which acts as an insulator-on nerve fibers in the brain. Alexander disease is considered an autosomal dominant disorder, which means one copy of the altered gene in each cell is sufficient to cause the disease. Almost all cases result from new mutations in the gene and occur in people with no history of the disorder in their family. Children with hydrocephalus caused by Alexander disease usually have increased intracranial pressure and a more rapid progression of the disease. Generally, the earlier the age of onset of Alexander disease, the more severe and rapid the course. Therefore, unaffected parents of a child with ALX are at a low risk to have another affected child.

Complete Information on Autoimmune Inner Ear disease with Treatment and Prevention
May 4th, 2008 · No Comments
On one end, organ specific responses with organ specific autoantibodies and T cells produce tissue alteration.
Autoimmune inner ear disease (AIED) is an incendiary circumstance of the inner ear. The reason of AIED is mostly assumed to be related to either antibodies or exempt cells that induce harm to the inner ear. There is evidence that genetically controlled aspects of the immune system may increase or otherwise be associated with increased susceptibility to common hearing disorders such as menieres disease. It seems that allergies can cause or at least are associated with autoimmune inner ear disease. Observation suggests there is a genetic component as autoimmune diseases seem to cluster in families. Interestingly, this trait may show up as several different autoimmune diseases within the same family. However, this genetic predisposition alone does not cause autoimmune diseases to develop. Other factors need to be present as well in order to initiate the disease process.

May 4th, 2008 · No Comments
Anisakiasis is a zoonotic disease.
Anisakiasis is the disease caused by infection with Anisakis worms. It is frequently reported in areas of the world where fish is consumed raw, lightly pickled or salted. The disease is caused by the ingestion of larval nematodes in raw seafood dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ceviche, and pickled herring. They are infective to humans and cause Anisakiasis, and fish which have been infected with Anisakis spp. can produce an anaphylactic reaction in people who have become sensitized to Immunoglobulin E. Anisakis spp. have a complex life cycle which passes through a number of hosts through the course of its life. Aniskiasis is contracted when inadequately cooked fish containing these nematode larvae are eaten. Infection is diagnosed after surgical intervention for intestinal obstruction or peritonitis, which is caused by necrotizing, eosinophilic, granulomatous inflammation.

With the ease of which we find food today, we may be robbing ourselves of the rewarding feelings that our ancestors used to get after the hunt. Research suggests that this may be a factor in modern rates of depression.

Complete Information on Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis with Treatment and Prevention
May 4th, 2008 · No Comments
Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis must be differentiated from perimenstrual flares of skin diseases such as acne, dermatitis herpetiformis, erythema multiforme, lichen planus, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis and estrogen dermatitis.
Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis (APD) is a circumstance in which the menstrual rhythm is associated with an amount of rind findings such as urticaria, eczema, angioedema, and others. The circumstance presents with a kind of rind eruptions characterized by cyclical recurrent premenstrual exacerbations payable to progesterone variation during the menstrual rhythm. Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis usually presents during early adult life, and the disease may periodically go into spontaneous remission. Exogenous progesterone (eg, in oral contraceptives containing progestational agents like norethindrone or synthetic progestogens like norgestrel or levonorgestrel) may aggravate the skin eruptions of autoimmune progesterone dermatitis. Some women with chronic urticaria experience cyclical exacerbations of their skin condition corresponding with the menstrual cycle, and it is possible that progesterone plays a role in this process.
